Title:Principal MEP Engineer | Sales
Our client:Our client is a growing MEP Engineering firm operating nationwide and internationally. They continually pursue simple, eloquent solutions to complex problems, minimizing construction costs by focusing on the overall efficiency for the most streamlined design. This comprises Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Sprinkler and Fire Protection services, as well as Building Condition Assessments, Energy Modeling and Design Reviews. Projects include hotels, offices, education, retail and residential (such as passive houses). Our client is an energetic office with a vibe more like a tech firm than an old-school MEP firm. And it is REMOTE. Job Description:Excellent position for a business-driven and technically proficient MEP Principal to lead sales growth, project execution and team management. The role is ideal for an entrepreneurial professional with extensive experience in MEP systems and a strong network in the NYC MEP and construction market. Remote. Responsibilities: - Drive new business opportunities in commercial, residential, and institutional MEP markets.
- Leverage an existing network of clients and developers to build a robust project pipeline.
- Represent the firm at industry events and professional associations.
- Lead and review MEP engineering design, technical deliverables.
- Ensure code compliance and design alignment with NYC laws and codes.
- Act as a technical authority for high-performance HVAC, lighting, and energy systems.
- Manage and mentor a distributed team of engineers and remote staff.
- Oversee project timelines, budget tracking, and resource allocation.
Job Requirements: - Six (6) + years of experience in the MEP industry, with significant project work in NYC.
- BS degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field. (Masters desired but not required)
- Proven sales track record in securing and delivering MEP contracts and services.
- PE license is desired but not required.
- Strong familiarity with NYC Local Laws such as 84, 87, 97 and green buildings.
- Knowledge of energy audits, and carbon compliance.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, energy modeling or other simulation tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Certifications such as LEED AP, CEM, or WELL desired but not required.
Education:BS degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field.
