Job Description: Immediate opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building design for hospitals and healthcare facilities and a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles. This position is primarily office-based, with the option to work from the firm's Princeton office if preferred.
Responsibilities:
Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams and specifications.
Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash and fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings (in lab, higher education, historical renovation, museums, and offices)
Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision and design schedules are maintained.
Work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, and contractors.
Selection and specification of appropriate equipment
Incorporate sustainable design methods into buildings.
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues.
Job Requirements:
Five to seven (5-7) years professional experience in designing Electrical Systems for hospitals, medical clinics, outpatient centers, labs, and other healthcare facilities for AE or MEP consulting firms.
Must have a strong healthcare and hospital project list.
Strong AutoCAD and Revit capabilities
EIT desired.
Strong understanding of the NEC and the International Building Codes
Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing
